Residents and visitors alike are gearing up for the launch of a new monthly event, “First Fridays at Five” spearheaded by the City of Pittsfield and Downtown Pittsfield Inc. Starting tomorrow, Friday, May 3rd, 2024, and running through September, this exciting initiative would transform downtown Pittsfield into a vibrant hub of activity from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
To accommodate the festivities, North Street will be closed to traffic from Park Square to Depot Street beginning at 3:30pm until 8:00pm. Commuters in the area are advised to plan alternative routes and follow designated detours. Furthermore, a parking restriction will be enforced on North Street between Park Square and Depot Street from 2 p.m. onwards.
On the event day, the heart of the celebration will feature a variety of attractions including the First Fridays at Five festivals. As highlighted on the accompanying map, families can enjoy a dedicated family fun zone, offering complimentary interactive activities like Balloon Ben, Kids’ Paint and Sip, face painting and more. Live entertainment will take center stage with a performance by the dynamic nine-piece brass band Soul Magnets at the City Stage situated at the southern end of the North Street closure adjacent to Park Square.
