The City of Pittsfield Conservation Commission announced in a press release that they and Lyon Aviation will sponsor a free fishing derby for youth aged 14 and under on May 11th, 2024 at the Wild Acres Conservation Area, located just off of South Mountain Road in Pittsfield.
This event will be held rain or shine. Volunteers provided by the Onota Fishing Club will assist with dressing fish as well as providing fishing tips and techniques, baiting, et cetera. The derby will run from 8:00am to 12:30pm. Trophies will be awarded at 12:00pm to those who catch the largest fish in length and weight. Bait will be provided. The first 100 Children to to the derby will receive a free food voucher. Ozzie’s Steak and Eggs will also have food available for purchase.
