In a press release issued by the City of Pittsfield on Friday, April 5th, the City of Pittsfield, Downtown Pittsfield Inc. and The Downtown Pittsfield Cultural Association announced the details for the first season of “First Fridays at Five.” The event will feature many events including entertainment throughout five evenings throughout the summer. Speaking at a press conference regarding the event, Mayor Peter Marchetti shared “First Fridays at Five will bring a variety of activities to our downtown, including music, dance, art, a Maker’s Market, family fun and more. We’ll be closing down North Street from Park Square to Depot Street from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on May 3rd. To me, this is exciting because it is truly about bringing our people to downtown, beginning the reimagining of our downtown, and bringing folks to downtown Pittsfield to celebrate.”

Other events taking place include the mobile City Main Stage which will feature live music, the Maker’s Market which will feature local vendors who make their own handmade products such as crafts, clothing, candles, and much more. First Fridays will also feature the Family Fun Zone which will feature free interactive activities from local nonprofit organizations including face painting, arts and crafts games and much more.

First Fridays at Five is a brand-new event led by the City of Pittsfield and Downtown Pittsfield Inc. taking place in downtown Pittsfield from May through September. For more information, go to LovePittsfield.com.
