City Council Preview: Leaders to Meet on Tuesday Regarding Angled Parking on North Street, Water and Sewer Rates, Plus More

Zach Bianco PCTV News April 19, 2024

The Pittsfield City Council is scheduled to convene at City Hall’s Main Chamber at 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 23rd to address some significant topics.

Among these is a proposal from Mayor Marchetti, backed by a presentation from the Commissioner of Public Services and Utilities, concerning angled parking on North Street. This issue holds particular interest as neighboring towns such as Lee, West Stockbridge, and Stockbridge already utilize angled parking on their Main Streets. The discussion on angled parking gains significance amidst existing concerns regarding North Street, notably due to the bike lane which has reduced the street from two travel lanes to one.

Additionally, the Council will review drafts aimed at adjusting the City’s water and sewer rates annually in establishing rates for the Fiscal Year 2025.

With these critical matters on the agenda, this is a council meeting you don’t want to miss.
